Joelle Young

I’m an experienced proofreader and a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). I abide by the CIEP Code of Practice.

Since going freelance in 2016, I have proofread articles for specialist journals, self-help books, accounting text books, product descriptions for womenswear brands, academic essays on history and politics, promotional text for transport websites and operational guidelines for airlines.

My ongoing involvement in theatre and the arts means that I’m well-placed to proofread and edit play scripts, theses and books on theatre and modern art. From my previous career in editorial roles in the broadcasting industry (BBC and Red Bee Media) I have gained a sound editorial eye and excellent project management skills.
